1Who we are

The Dogs Before is run by Rhombicosidodecahedron LLC, a limited liability company organised in the State of Delaware, United States, at 1207 Delaware Ave #2715, Wilmington, DE 19806. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Rhombicosidodecahedron LLC. You can reach us at hello@thedogsbefore.com.

2What the service does

You upload a pedigree. We read the dogs' names and registrations from it and look each dog up in public sources: breed and pedigree databases, show and trial results, health registries, and kennel and club websites. The work is done by software; nobody reads your pedigree by hand unless you write to us about it.

• The free check searches for every dog and shows you how much was found, before you pay anything.
• Family research reads the sources, checks each finding against the page it came from, and builds a family page, an interactive tree and an archive for your pedigree.

3Your upload

Only upload a pedigree you are entitled to use, such as one for your own dog. By ticking the box before the free check you agree to these terms and to your file being handled as described in the privacy policy.

4Price and payment

Family research costs €49 per pedigree, paid once. The price is the same for every breed and includes VAT or sales tax where it applies. You pay before the research starts. There is no subscription and nothing is charged again.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: it sells the research to you, takes the payment, issues your receipt and handles refunds. Your purchase is also covered by Paddle's buyer terms. Questions about a payment or a refund can go to Paddle or to us.

5When you get it

The research starts as soon as the payment is confirmed. It usually takes about 15 minutes. When many orders arrive at once it can wait in a queue, up to a day. The family page opens at the address of your report, which you can keep and come back to.

6Cancelling

The research is digital content made for you. At checkout you ask us to start it straight away and confirm that you then lose the legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days. Once the research has started, the purchase cannot be cancelled. You keep the right to a refund in the cases set out in the refund policy.

7What the findings are

Every finding comes from a public page, and we link to that page. We check that a finding belongs to the dog in your pedigree, and we never merge dogs with similar names without proof. But the sources themselves can be incomplete or wrong, and some dogs are not published anywhere.

• The findings are not an official record. For registrations and titles, the breed registry and the organising club remain the authority.
• Health results are shown as they were published. They are not veterinary advice.
• The free check looks at search results only, so it can miss dogs published under a different spelling.
• The breed paintings on the site are generated illustrations of the breed, not portraits of the dogs in your pedigree. Photos of your dogs are always shown with their source.

8Other people's content

Photos, texts and records on the family page belong to the sites and people who published them. We show them with a link to where they came from. If you own something we show and want it removed, write to hello@thedogsbefore.com and we will take it down.

9Your family page

Your family page is not listed or indexed. It is at a private address, and anyone you give the address to can open it. We keep it online for as long as we run the service, unless you ask us to delete it.

10Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of third-party sources, such as breeding or purchase decisions. Apart from liability that cannot be limited by law, our total liability for a purchase is limited to the price you paid for it.

11Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and a purchase is governed by the version in force when you made it. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Questions go to hello@thedogsbefore.com.
